Beginnings

Since its humble beginnings at Genting Highlands, Malaysia in December 2003, A VOYAGE OF SONGS International Choral Festival (AVOS) has grown to become one of the region’s leading choral competitions and attracted choirs from all over the world. To date, AVOS has hosted more than 7,000 choristers from countries in the region such as Indonesia and The Philippines, as well as many who have travelled from Africa and Europe.

As part of the programme, participants engage in musical and cultural exchanges with clinicians and choirs from other countries. Since its inception, the biannual AVOS has been held in Shah Alam (Malaysia), Pattaya (Thailand), Penang (Malaysia), Zhuhai (China), Bangkok (Thailand) and Taoyuan (Taiwan).
